About: John Egan is an award-winning freelance writer in Austin, Texas. Egan was editor and managing editor of the Austin Business Journal from 1999 to 2006. He has won awards from the Texas Press Association, Missouri Press Association, Society of American Business Editors and Writers, and Ragan’s PR Daily. Egan earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. Egan wore contact lenses for years, then glasses. He then underwent LASIK and now wears glasses again to supplement his LASIK-improved vision. As he says, "I'm all about vision."
