What are Eyezen lenses?

  • Eyezen Focus – Eyezen lenses have a small amount of magnification to allow you to maintain a proper working distance from your screen and avoid holding it too close.
  • Blue-violet light filtering technology – This reduces exposure to blue-violet light emitted by digital screens.
  • Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement (W.A.V.E) Technology – Used to give each lens a unique design, W.A.V.E. Technology provides clarity at any distance, eliminating blur even with poor lighting. Lenses are customized based on your individual single-vision prescription for each eye. 

The result of this technology is an Eyezen lens that helps relax and protect your eyes. These lenses allow you to view your digital screens more comfortably, providing clearer near vision and reduced eye strain. In addition, wearers have improved contrast perception and diminished glare. 

Eyezen lenses are designed to be worn all day, and can even benefit patients who do not typically wear prescription glasses.

Eyezen Start

Eyezen Start is a single-vision lens that uses two different points on the lens to deliver different surfaces for distance and near vision. This technology optimizes the area of the lens that provides clarity to the patient. This single vision lens is ideal for all types of digital use in the modern home and workplace. 

The added blue light benefit of Eyezen Start lenses is that they keep the eyes comfortable and filter higher energy blue-violet light when using a digital device.

Eyezen +

Eyezen + lenses are enhanced single-vision lenses used to combat digital eye strain. For those who want an extra boost in their single-vision lenses, Eyezen + may be the perfect fit. Eyezen + lenses are created with four different accommodation (eye focusing) levels. This provides a small amount of magnification for easier, sharper focus of close viewing distances for more comfortable reading.

The magnification levels of Eyezen + are determined by the diopter strength. The higher the diopter, the stronger the prescription. All Eyezen lens designs have blue-violet light filtering properties. Eyezen + lenses are recommended for people who experience frequent symptoms of digital eye strain. 

  • Eyezen + 0 – Typically recommended for children 17 and under, this lens has 0.00 diopters. This means there is no added magnification but it does have blue-violet light filtering properties.  
  • Eyezen + 1 – People aged 18 to 34 benefit most from a small level of magnification — 0.40 diopters to be exact.
  • Eyezen + 2 – The power level for Eyezen + 2 lenses is 0.60 diopters, which is suggested for people aged 35 to 44.
  • Eyezen + 3 – The highest enhancement currently available for Eyezen + lenses is 0.85 diopters. It’s recommended for people aged 45 to 50 who do not yet need progressive lensesor bifocals for presbyopia. 

The age ranges listed above are suggested by the manufacturer. However, your eye doctor will prescribe the best Eyezen + accommodation level for you based on your specific needs. 

People over the age of 40 who are beginning to experience symptoms of presbyopia may benefit more from a pair of Varilux lenses than Eyezen + 3 lenses. Consult with your eye doctor to learn more and find the lenses that best meet your needs.
